About Petersham Nurseries and Cafe.
It is one of the most popular nurseries near London. Owned by the Boglione family who moved from Central London to Richmond in 1997. Their new home, Petersham House, overlooked a local plant nursery and this how it all started. A little slice of the English countryside where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

It is a family run affair with the eldest daughter Lara Boglione being the creative visionary and bringing Petersham Nurseries to Covent Garden. There are 2 locations now the mother-ship at Richmond and the new location at Covent Garden.

How to get to Petersham Nurseries and Cafe.
Based in the historic town of Richmond – Petersham Nurseries and Cafe as regular trains from London Waterloo. If you are looking to drive, it is roughly a 45 minute drive from Central London and yes traffic permitting.
Is there parking near Petersham Nurseries and Cafe?
There is limited parking space near the cafe itself. You can always park at the Pembroke Lodge at Richmond Park. A rather pleasant walk down hill from here and you reach the cafe. Visit the historic town of Richmond which has a great high street. It is a beautiful town with the Thames running through and an abundance of green space.
You can combine your visit to the cafe with a picnic at the Richmond Park or a visit to the famous Kew Gardens.

Petersham Nurseries is the ideal place for nature lovers. Their greenhouses are filled with beautiful plants and flowers,home ware and bespoke gardening equipment. Anyone looking to jazz up their living room should make a beeline for this place. It is the perfect place to spend a beautiful bright summers day.
Can you buy plants at Petersham Nurseries and Cafe? The Nursery sells everything you could ever need for your beautiful garden. There are some antique artefacts to decorate your house and some bohemian lifestyle decorations.
The Teahouse.
The highlight of this place has to be the Teahouse. Located in the glasshouse surrounded by some of the most beautiful flowers and plants it offers seasonal food, complimented with fresh salads and homemade cakes. Perfect place to enjoy your English Afternoon Tea.

There is something peaceful and relaxing about this place, even though it is always bustling with locals and tourists. We usually visit the cafe with the children on a summer’s day and yes it is one of the most picturesque cafes you will ever visit.

The tables are beautifully decorated with flowers, grown on site and a mismatch of vintage tables and chairs.
Petersham Cafe.
For a more formal dining experience you can book a table at the award wining restaurant. The cafe is also popular for hosting a candlelight supper club on a handful of evenings throughout the year.

The Shop
It is always a treat to visit Petersham Cafe. If you have not had enough of this place you can always visit the Shop and take a piece of the Nursery and cafe home. The shop offers a selective collection of home-ware and is renowned for it’s selection of chandeliers, glassware, mirrors and antique furniture. A great place to buy a unique gift for your special one.

Is the Petersham Nurseries and Cafe child friendly? This is one of the most child friendly places you can visit. Great place to get your kids involved with nature and gardening. The cafe is also dog friendly.

A must visit if you are a tourist or a local as there is always something magical about this place that makes me leave with a smile.

I’ve been to London a few times, but haven’t heard of Petersham Nursuries before. It looks like a beautiful place to spend a few hours and get out of the city. I can never seem to keep plants alive, but I do love walking through gardens and nurseries to see different flowers and plants.

Given a choice between a city and countryside, I would always go for countryside. I love those peaceful environment, friendly people and the culture outside city. The Richmond looks perfect to me. The Cafe is undoubtedly one of the picturesque one with floral decoration in each corner. There are so much to cover whenever I land in London.

This is really a hidden gem! It muse be such a beautiful experience to spend your day in the nursery among these plants. My uncle who lives in Hull is an ardent gardener and I will definitely tell him about this if he doesn’t know already.
